The Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong was first established in 1960. It is a local voluntary agency run by volunteer workers. Though non-religious in nature, SBHK serves in a spirit of generosity and benevolence demonstrated by the Good Samaritan in the Bible to lend a helping hand to those in distress and helplessness, particularly to those on the verge of committing suicide.
